Saint-Rogatien is a commune in Charente-Maritime with 1,898 registered voters, the 60th largest of the département's 462 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 65.3% of them voted, more than the 58.7% across Charente-Maritime, and CONTINUONS ENSEMBLE POUR SAINT-ROGATIEN won 15 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 33.1%, France Unbowed 19.4%, National Rally 19.1%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 5 points better here than across France.
