Arces is a commune in Charente-Maritime with 638 registered voters, the 185th largest of the département's 462 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 73.8% of them voted, more than the 58.7% across Charente-Maritime, and ARCES SUR GIRONDE TERRE D' AVENIR won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 36.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.2%, France Unbowed 15.2%. National Rally did 13 points better here than across France.
