Fresné-la-Mère is a commune in Calvados with 441 registered voters, the 223rd largest of the département's 526 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 76.9% of them voted, more than the 58.2% across Calvados, and BIEN VIVRE ENSEMBLE A FRESNE-LA-MERE won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 35.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 22.9%, France Unbowed 16.2%. National Rally did 12 points better here than across France.
