Sainte-Croix-Volvestre is a commune in Ariège with 586 registered voters, the 45th largest of the département's 325 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 76.8% of them voted, more than the 64% across Ariège, and DES RACINES, UN AVENIR EN COMMUN won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 40.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 18.2%, National Rally 15.9%. France Unbowed did 18 points better here than across France.
