Orlu is a commune in Ariège with 129 registered voters, the 194th largest of the département's 325 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 73.6% of them voted, more than the 64% across Ariège, and VIVRE ENSEMBLE DANS LA VALLEE D'ORLU won 11 of the council's 11 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 21.1%, Socialists 17.5%, France Unbowed 15.8%. Socialists did 16 points better here than across France.
