Leychert is a commune in Ariège with 111 registered voters, the 209th largest of the département's 325 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 91.9% of them voted, more than the 64% across Ariège, and LEYCHERT VILLAGE VIVANT won 9 of the council's 11 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 42.5%, National Rally 13.7%, Others 12.3%. France Unbowed did 21 points better here than across France.
