Cannes is a commune in Alpes-Maritimes with 52,779 registered voters, the 3rd largest of the département's 163 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 46.7% of them voted, fewer than the 55.3% across Alpes-Maritimes, and CANNES GAGNE AVEC DAVID LISNARD won 45 of the council's 49 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 26.2%, National Rally 24.4%, Reconquête 17.3%. Reconquête did 10 points better here than across France.

Moved to today's national polls, our projection for the 2027 first round here has Marine Le Pen ahead on 36.9%, with Édouard Philippe on 13.4%.
