Chaneins is a commune in Ain with 834 registered voters, the 165th largest of the département's 390 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 69.2% of them voted, more than the 52.5% across Ain, and CHANEINS, ESPRIT VILLAGE won 13 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 36.4%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 23.3%, Reconquête 11.5%. National Rally did 13 points better here than across France.
