Folgoso do Courel is a municipality in the province of Lugo with 985 inhabitants, the 61st largest of its 67 municipalities. Its council has 7 seats, and 4 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 PP came first with 54.3% of the vote and 4 seats, an absolute majority; I.G.V.- C.I.F. was second with 2. 91.2% of the 940 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
