Le Mesnil-le-Roi is a commune in Yvelines with 4,807 registered voters, the 57th largest of the département's 259 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 57.7% of them voted, more than the 54.4% across Yvelines, and ENGAGÉS POUR LE MESNIL won 25 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 40.1%, France Unbowed 13.9%, National Rally 12%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 12 points better here than across France.
