Baillestavy is a commune in Pyrénées-Orientales with 77 registered voters, the 191st largest of the département's 226 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 75.3% of them voted, more than the 61.5% across Pyrénées-Orientales, and Per Vallestavia won 11 of the council's 11 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 40.4%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 15.8%, National Rally 14%. France Unbowed did 18 points better here than across France.
