Saint-Eloy-les-Mines is a commune in Puy-de-Dôme with 2,727 registered voters, the 32nd largest of the département's 461 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 65.3% of them voted, more than the 60.5% across Puy-de-Dôme, and UNIS POUR SAINT-ELOY-LES-MINES won 18 of the council's 23 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 35.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 21.3%, France Unbowed 16.3%. National Rally did 12 points better here than across France.
