Mugron is a commune in Landes with 931 registered voters, the 81st largest of the département's 327 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 79.1% of them voted, more than the 63.7% across Landes, and MUGRON AVEC VOUS won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 22.3%, National Rally 19.6%, France Unbowed 19.3%. Others did 8 points better here than across France.
