Clermont is a commune in Landes with 677 registered voters, the 113th largest of the département's 327 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 76.1% of them voted, more than the 63.7% across Landes, and UN NOUVEL HORIZON POUR CLERMONT won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 25.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 24.3%, France Unbowed 17.1%. Others did 7 points better here than across France.
