Chepniers is a commune in Charente-Maritime with 548 registered voters, the 217th largest of the département's 462 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 61.7% of them voted, more than the 58.7% across Charente-Maritime, and Chepniers demain poursuivre et progresser ensemble won 15 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 34.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.8%, France Unbowed 14.9%. National Rally did 11 points better here than across France.
