Sainte-Maure is a commune in Aube with 1,337 registered voters, the 27th largest of the département's 431 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 64.6% of them voted, more than the 54.5% across Aube, and GARDONS L'ÉLAN ! won 16 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 32.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.6%, France Unbowed 12.7%. National Rally did 9 points better here than across France.
